Miss Tash
Miss Tash finds that being a teacher is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding careers as every day she is able to see the children grow.

Miss Tash has been dancing for 20 years covering all styles of dance while under the guidance of some of Australia’s most prestigious dance teachers and choreographers. From a young age Tash was involved in all things dance, performing at the DET schools spectacular, touring in Queensland for the Showcase Nationals Dance Competition in which she was in the top placing’s, and entering into many eisteddfods both as a soloist and as a part of a Jazz troupe as well as doing student choreographies and improvisation in Contemporary and Classical Ballet.
Tash has entered into many ballet exams from the tender age of 5 covering both the B.A.L (Ballet Australasia Limited) and R.A.D (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus. During her junior grades she received Honours with distinction, the highest mark possible and then later sat her Senior Ballet exams, training up to an Advanced Foundation level.
Whilst at school she had the privilege of being taught by leading Contemporary choreographer Jason Winters, where she undertook dance as an elective for her HSC at Ecole Ballet and Theatre. As well as this, she voluntarily taught dance at a local primary school, catering to all ages and abilities and also choreographed her former high school’s musical production, ‘Back to the 80’s’ and ‘Grease.’
Tash has completed a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management, giving her valuable skills and knowledge in how to teach dance safely and correctly. She is currently studying a Diploma of Counselling majoring in childhood development, mindfulness and expressive therapies.
Tash is a dedicated teacher with over 10 years teaching experience. From a very young age it has been her dream to teach and nurture children, and allow them to create a passion and dream of their own. She finds that being a teacher is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding careers as every day she is able to see the children grow; both as dancers and people. Although she loves and has trained in all styles of dance; Contemporary, Jazz, JFH and Ballet are among her favourites and she hopes she can pass on her knowledge and passion to her students.

She has performed at many venues such as the Royal Easter Show every year since 2011, Darling Harbour, Crestwood Fair, Orange Blossom Festival, Synergy Dance Festival, Ridges Festival where she also was an MC at this event and many more. One of the biggest events Zoe danced at was Project Pink in 2015. Project Pink is a fundraiser gala concert held at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. It is the Global Dance Tour where Zoe worked with the host of Young Talent Time Rob Mills, Sam Moran and Delta Goodrem just to name a few. Zoe has also performed at a major fashion event at the Star City Casino which she will never forget.
As well as these performances, she has been a HSC dancer for many year 12 students back when she was in school. This has been an excellent opportunity for Zoe as it gave her experience in the process of composing dance pieces before she even became a dance teacher here with us.
In 2021, Zoe will continue to teach styles such as Acro, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet, JFH, Musical Theatre and of course our Jigsaw Junior Classes! This will be Zoe’s 6th year of teaching with us.
Zoe says “The most important part of a child’s dancing life is to have a safe environment to have fun whilst dancing, to create life-long friendships and to have supportive mentors as their teachers. I believe that Jigsaw Dance Studio is the best place to see your child grow. Seeing my beautiful kids performing at the concerts makes me so happy and proud to see how far they have come, it is honestly the best feeling. I love being a part of the Jigsaw Family and getting to work alongside my fellow teachers is such a great opportunity. It doesn’t feel like working when you’re doing what you love.”

Mr Tom
Eat, sleep, dance…. repeat

Mr Tom has had the love for dance and the performing arts for the past 12 years at the age of 6 and for many years to come. From my love for dance I have learnt to love the dance styles of Hip-hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet and Musical Theatre over the years where I have enjoy every minute.
My favourite style of dance is Hip-Hip and Musical Theatre where I can express the pops and locks within a form of your own style in Hip-hop to the storytelling through dance in Musical Theatre have made it so enjoyable. Only within the last 3 years I have known to help spread the passion and love I have for dance and the performing arts.
Through teaching students how to dance I believe it is not all about the moves and way things are being done but instead the way that the students gain the confidence and love for what they do which is dance. Passing on the spirit of what performing arts is, is something that I truely love about teaching and that is what Jigsaw Dance has provided. Even though I have had so much love and passion into teaching students to dance, I have also do many things within the performing arts including performing at The Royal Easter Show, The NSW School Spectacular on live tv, many different school musical productions and worked in the sound production on many presentations and shows at school.
For the future of the performing arts I hope to spread the love for performing arts for many years to come in any form from teaching to performing to even production. Hoping that the spirit of the performing arts lives on forever.

Miss Alex
Miss Alex has been with Jigsaw Dance for over 15 years and would love to welcome your little one into our dance family

Alex has trained in many dance styles such as Tap, Jazz, JFH, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Ballet. Her specialty styles that she love love loves to teach is JFH and Hip Hop.
Alex was privileged and over the moon excited when she got the call to say that she would be performing and co-choreographing in a major fashion event at the Star City Casino. This was a big opportunity for Alex where she made connections with performers and producers that she will never forget. She gained even more experience as more shows and events stemmed from this performance.
Alex says “Miss Jen (or what I used to call her was Miss Jenny) has been a big part of why I became a dance teacher. She inspired me to want to pursue my career in teaching with her passion and drive as this is something that I share with her. I get so much enjoyment from seeing my students grow and improve. To top it off, the fact that I get to be a part of seeing them succeed and perform on stage with a big smile on their faces makes me truly happy.”
She cannot wait to meet her new students this year and piece together amazing routines for them to perform on stage!

Years Experience
29
Miss Jen loves everything to do with dance and music. Starting dancing at the age of 2½ she delighted in performing on stage. Working her way through her dancing examination and participating in eisteddfods, both individually and in troupes, it soon became obvious that her future would be in music and dance. She started taking piano lesson when she was 5 years old and also added singing lessons to her busy weekly schedule.
As a child Miss Jen attended many musical theatre performances and when the opportunity arose for her to participate in a local production of the “Little Mermaid” she embraced the role with her usual dedication. Jen performed in many school musicals over the years.
A parent approached Jen when she was 13 years old and asked her to teach her daughter to dance. She eagerly accepted and started lessons in her family garage. Her start from one student quickly grew and when she was 16 she knew that she wanted to share her passion and joy of dancing and music with other children.
After completing her HSC and leaving school Jen built on her growing number of students and started Jigsaw Dance. She decided from the beginning that she wanted her students to learn to dance in a non-competitive environment and develop the “whole” child, not only by teaching them to dance but by building on their self confidence with a positive mind and body image. Although classes are structured, they are conducted in a fun and relaxed atmosphere and allows children at all levels to enjoy dancing. The decision to start singing/drama classes is a natural progression to give children an even broader exposure to music and dance.
After 25 years of teaching, Jen has found one of the most rewarding and humbling aspects of her career is when students she has taught in the past are now bringing their children to her to learn to dance, thereby continuing to share the love of dance.
