Her love of travel inspired her to be a dancer and aerialist on cruise ships, performing high energy Vegas and Broadway style shows for a number of years. This love led her to meet her other true love, her husband, and for the last few years they have shared their mutual passion for the arts by running an international art gallery. Combining her 16 years of experience in event management she enjoyed the opportunity to hone her other talents as she was in charge of sales, marketing and event coordination. She has always wanted to share her passion for the creative arts by inspiring young minds to follow in her footsteps. It’s for this reason that she has been a teacher of many styles for over 15 years, helping bring her experience to the industry.

She finds that being a teacher is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding careers as every day she is able to see the children grow; both as dancers and people. Although she loves and has trained in all styles of dance; Contemporary, Jazz, JFH and Ballet are among her favourites and she hopes she can pass on her knowledge and passion to her students. ‘Dancing is my passion and something that has always been a big part of my life. Teaching dance is one of the most rewarding things I do and sharing what I love so much with children who share that same passion is something truly special. The Jigsaw Dance Studio creates such a nurturing environment where the main focus is on the students enjoying and loving what they do, which is why I enjoy being a part of Jigsaw so much! I always remember “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life’.
Emma began dancing at the somewhat late age of 10. As a late starter she was adamant that dancing was what she wanted so spent the next 8 years training 6 days a week in all styles. In this time Emma attained over 95% in Glen Wood Tap exams, ‘Honors’ and ‘Honors with a Distinction’ in Jazz exams through the ADAPT dance Syllabus and was nominated for Call Backs for my HSC dance Major Performance.

After graduating from ED5INTERNATIONAL Emma wanted to share her knowledge and love of dance with others and also wanted to explore her other passion of Primary School Teaching. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Primary education at the Australian Catholic University and teach dance classes 6 days a week. Emma also completed her Coaching Accreditation for Acrobatics through Gymnastics Australia and have used my knowledge of gymnastics and acrobatics to teach at dance schools such as the ‘Tap Dogs’ and ‘ED5 Junior School’.
“I thoroughly believe that dancing can be the most exciting and joyous time for kids and teens and it is the responsibility of the teacher to make class something the students look forward to attending every week. The most heart-warming and rewarding thing to hear at the end of class is a student say “that was the best class” or “I wish you could come and teach us every week!” To me, there is nothing more gratifying then helping a child develop the confidence to achieve their own personal goals. Their happiness is why I love to teach.”
